GLOBAL - Investment Management Association, T Rowe Price, Legal & General Investment Management, Universities Superannuation Scheme

Investment Management Association (IMA) - The IMA has made four new appointments to the board: Hugh Mullan, UK managing director at Fidelity Worldwide Investment; Mark Zinkula, chief executive at Legal & General Investment Management; Andrew Formica, chief executive at Henderson Global Investors; and Andrew Laing, deputy chief executive at Aberdeen Asset Management. Helena Morrissey, chief executive at Newton Asset Management, Alain Dromer, former chief executive at Aviva Investors, and Bill Smith, chief executive at Lazard Asset Management, have all stepped down.

T Rowe Price - Robert Higginbotham has been appointed head of global institutional services. He joins from Fidelity Worldwide Investment, where he served as chief executive for the EMEA and Latin America regions. Before then, he held a number of positions at Schroder Investment Management. He has also served as a board member at the Investment Management Association and vice-chair of the Forum for European Asset Management. He succeeds Todd Ruppert, who retired in June.

Legal & General Investment Management - Lindsay Tomlinson has joined the board as a non-executive director. He joined Barclays Global Investors in 1987, where he became UK chief executive in 1994 and pan-European chief executive in 1996, latterly becoming the firm's vice-chairman. He was previously chairman of the NAPF (2009-11), has served as a director of the Financial Reporting Council and is currently chairman of the Code Committee of the Takeover Panel.

Universities Superannuation Scheme - Steve Deeley and Rob Horsnall have been appointed as investment managers for infrastructure. Deeley joins from UBS Global Asset Management, where he was director of infrastructure asset management. Before then, he worked on the corporate finance team at Deloitte. Horsnall is an internal appointment, having been promoted from senior analyst in the private markets team.
