BT Pension Scheme/Wilshire ConsultingDaniel Ingram, head of responsible investment at the £43bn (€49.6bn) BT Pension Scheme (BTPS), has joined US consulting firm Wilshire Consulting. He joins as vice president of responsible investment research and consulting, to focus on the expansion of Wilshire’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) capabilities.

Ingram’s responsibilities at BTPS will be taken on by David Griffiths, director of strategy, a spokesperson for the pension fund told IPE. Ingram joined BTPS in 2011 from Hermes Fund Managers, the scheme’s wholly-owned investment manager, where he was a senior corporate governance analyst. Prior to this, he was a policy analyst at the UK Treasury for four years.

At Wilshire, Ingram reports to Andrew Junkin, president, and Steve Foresti, CIO. Junkin said Ingram had “an excellent track record of designing and implementing creative investment-led solutions to managing ESG risks and opportunities”.

HSBC Global Asset Management – The asset management arm of the banking giant HSBC has hired responsible investment chiefs from two rivals as it seeks to become “a leader in green and sustainable investment”. Sandra Carlisle joins from Newton Investment Management where she was head of responsible investment. She is a board member of the UN’s Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and a visiting business fellow at Oxford University’s Smith School of the Environment.

Stephanie Maier is to join the firm from Aviva Investors, where she was head of responsible investment strategy and research. She chairs the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change’s Corporate Programme and is a director of UKSIF, the UK Sustainable Investment & Finance Association.

In addition, Helene Winch has joined the firm, also as a responsible investment specialist. She was previously a portfolio director at Low Carbon Ltd, a specialist environmental investment group. She has worked at the PRI as head of policy and research, and also at BTPS as head of policy.

HoogovensAernout van Citters has been appointed as board member of the €8bn Pensioenfonds Hoogovens, the pension fund of Tata’s steelworks in the Netherlands, as well as chairman of the scheme’s audit and risk committee. Van Citters is secretary of the executive board of Tata Steel Netherlands. He has succeeded Frants Nielsen, who has left after completing his maximum term.

PGGMEdwin Velzel has been appointed as chairman of the supervisory board (RvT) of pensions provider PGGM. He replaces Herman de Boon, who had chaired the RvT since 2007. Jan van Rutte has also joined the supervisory board. Velzen is temporary chairman of the executive board of Klaverblad Verzekeringen, and was previously chairman of healthcare insurance Univé VGZ IZA Trias. Van Rutte has been chief financial officer and vice chairman of the executive board of ABN Amro. Currently, he chairs the RvT of De Volksbank. De Boon has completed two four-year terms and also served part of a third term in order to guarantee continuity. PGGM is provider for the €187bn healthcare scheme PFZW.

PensionDanmark/Copenhagen Business SchoolTorben Möger Pedersen, chief executive of PensionDanmark, is to be appointed adjunct professor at Copenhagen Business School (CBS) at a formal occasion on 6 September, when he will give his inaugural lecture at the institution. CBS said he had continuously contributed to the school and to its finance and economics departments, significantly through being a co-founder of the Pension Research Centre (PeRCent), as well as a member of its advisory board. Möger Pedersen has headed up PensionDanmark for more than 25 years. The appointment is for a five-year period.

Xafinity Group – The UK consulting and pension services group has appointed Dave Hodges as head of its National Pension Trust, a defined contribution master trust. He joins from Zurich after a 32-year career with the insurer. Most recently he was director of client relations and servicing.He was a founding executive of Zurich’s corporate savings business, and was involved in the establishment of Zurich’s master trust.

SYZ Asset ManagementPierre Seydel has been appointed head for Benelux and Nico Cacciabue head of key accounts. Seydel is based in Brussels and is responsible for the distribution of the investment manager’s Oyster-branded funds and asset management services in Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. He was previously at BlackRock for 12 years, as head of sales for Benelux, France, and Monaco. Cacciabue, who joined the asset manager in the second half of last year, is taking responsibility for co-ordinating and developing business relations and looking after the Geneva-based group’s relationships with worldwide distribution partners.

Northern TrustWim van Ooijen is to lead the financial services giant’s activities in Switzerland. He is currently country head for Northern Trust in the Netherlands and Germany, having joined in 2004. He will retain his responsibilities for the German office. He will oversee the Netherlands business until a replacement is announced, the company said. 

Dutch Actuarial Society – The Dutch professional body for actuaries, Actuarieel Genootschap (AG), has appointed Ron van Oijen as its new chair as well as chairman of the Actuarial Institute, its training arm. He succeeds Jan Kars, who has been at the helm for four years. Van Oijen has been chief executive of insurer Vivat Verzekeringen since March last year. Prior to his, he was CEO at ING in the Czech Republic and Slovakia as well as regional CEO in Hong Kong, responsible for India, Thailand, and South Korea. He has also been CEO at Thai insurer AIA.

Unigestion/Sustainable Finance GenevaFiona Frick, CEO of Swiss asset manager Unigestion has been elected to the board of Sustainable Finance Geneva (SFG).  SFG is aiming to build a “key global platform for sustainable finance”, according to a statement announcing the appointment. She joins SFG’s strategy and surveillance committee.

Franklin Templeton InvestmentsMartyn Gilbey has been named UK country head for the US investment giant. From 1 August Gilbey will head up the UK retail and institutional businesses. He joins from Aberdeen Asset Management where he was head of UK distribution. He has also held distribution and marketing roles at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership and Mirae Asset Global Investment.

Schroders – The UK listed asset manager has appointed Daniel Imhof to the newly created role of head of global sales. He joins from UBS Wealth Management after a 25-year tenure, most recently as global head of portfolio specialists.
