The IPE Real Estate Investor Awards is the first event to honour investors for performance, transparency and innovation within the real estate sector.

The IPE RE Investor Awards 2010 are as follows:

REGIONAL AWARDS:
The ‘Best Use of Real Estate Investment 2010’ for pension funds and other institutional investors, based in each of the following regions
• Austria/Germany/Switzerland
• Benelux & France
• Nordic Countries
• UK & Ireland

THEMED AWARDS:
You can also submit your Regional entry for a Themed Award, or you can submit as many entries as you want with a separate description for each of the ‘Best Investor’ in each of Awards categories, as follows:
• Best Core Investment
• Best Direct Investment
• Best Indirect Investment
• Best Innovation
• Best Newcomer in Real Estate
• Best Opportunistic Investment
• Best Portfolio Construction

GOLD AWARDS:
All investors entering the Regional and/or Themed Awards will be put forward automatically for a Gold Award for ‘Best Use of Real Estate Investment –
Overall Investor Awards’ 2010:
• Large Investor (€750m + invested in Real Estate)
• Medium Investor (€250m- €750m invested in Real Estate)
• Small Investor (0 - €250m invested in Real Estate)

PLATINUM AWARDS:
The three winners of the European Gold Awards (Best Large – Best Medium - Best Small) will be judged against each other to determine:
• Best European Pension Fund 2010

A special award for:
• Outstanding Industry Contribution 2010
This award will be by nomination. Nominees can come from any part of the real estate investment industry and can be an individual, a team or a company.

Who judges the IPE RE Awards winners?
IPE Real Estate has invited leading industry professionals from across the industry to join the judging panels. The judges have access to the entries after the closing date of April 9 and they submit their scores to IPE Real Estate independently. We then aggregate the scores to arrive at the winners for each award. The judges’ decision is final and IPE Real Estate does not enter into any correspondence regarding any aspect of the judging process.

Who can attend and obtain a sponsored place?
In addition to pension funds, other executives of capital owners can attend such as those from insurance companies, charities, foundations and sovereign wealth funds. They do have to be based in Europe. Sponsored places are available to maximum of two places per fund or capital owner; these places provide free accommodation at four-star hotel and €350 towards travel expenses. IPE reserves the right to charge any sponsored place attendee who registers but does not attend the Awards dinner the full hotel accommodation charge and may not reimburse travel expenses.

Can investments consultants attend?
Yes they can attend free of charge, but do not qualify for sponsored places.

Where will the event be held in 2010?
At the Hotel Okura in Amsterdam – one of the city’s leading venues.

How confidential are entries?
IPE Real Estate those not disclose in advance those entries which have won an Award. Nor do we publish the names or any part of the entry of those investors which enter the Awards, but are not winners. But if an entry wins an Award, the investor automatically gives IPE Real Estate the right to publish all or part of their entry.

HOW TO ENTER

We ask pension funds to put forward an activity in which they believe they have excelled in during the 16 months period (from January 2009 to April 2010).

Pension funds can also submit this same entry and/or additional entries to the Themed Awards (If you submit the same entry for a Regional Award and a Themed Award it means that your entry will be judged twice: 1. At national/regional level against all other entries from pension funds in your region and, 2. At pan-European level against all other entries for the Themed Award you have entered).

JUDGING
IPE organises consultants and investment specialists to judge the investors awards. Once the closing date of April 9 has been reached, the judges score each entry independently online. We then aggregate the scores to arrive at the winners.
