UBS - Timothy Blackwell, previously head of Germany at UBS Global Asset Management in Frankfurt, has moved to the Paris office. He has been replaced by Andreas Varnavides, who left his post at Deutsche Asset Management.

State Street Global Advisors - Marie-Anne Heeren has been promoted to head of business development for SSgA in the Nordic region.

Newton Investment Management
- Jin Hill has left  Barclays Global Investors Limited in London to join Newton as account manager in the London institutional sales team.

Redington Partners - Ian Maybury has been appointed as senior actuary of the insurance and pensions team, co-managing the firm's quantitative analysts and driving innovative client solutions. He was previously head of insurance actuarial in the Insurance and Pensions Structured Solutions Group at Citigroup.

Barrie & Hibbert - Steffen Sorensen has left the Bank of England to join Barrie & Hibbert's London office as head of financial economic research.

Alexander ForbesLegal & General Group's Hilary Brown to the role of investment strategist in London.

Mercer - Brian Kite, from Prudential /M&G, is joining Mercer as senior consultant within the investment consulting business working predominantly on DC schemes. He is based in London.

Russell Investments - Martin Lamb, who previously worked for the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds, has been hired as head of Asia Pacific property, within the real estate team. He is based in Singapore.

Aon - Mark Chessher, from Zurich Financial Services, has been named as chief financial officer of Aon Limited and ARS (UK), replacing John Cullen, who earlier this year was promoted to the role of global CFO for Aon Risk Services.

BNP Paribas Securities Services - Natixis Investor Servicing's Valerie Nicaise has been appointed head of the IRP risk measurement team and Sophie Bourgarel, from SG Asset Management, is now head of business projects.

Wilshire Associates Incorporated - Michael Harriman has joined the firm as a senior managing director and head of Wilshire Analytics, Europe. He previously worked at the London-based consulting firm Positive View Limited.

Halbis - Aberdeen Asset Management's Ed Conroy has started at Halbis, the management specialist of HSBC Global Asset Management in London, focusing on researching Russian equities for the global emerging markets team.

Watson Wyatt - Scott Faris, Brandi Wust and Marilyn Rowland have joined the investment consulting teams. Faris, a senior investment consultant in the firm's Los Angeles office, previously worked at Northwest Capital Management. Wust joins from Evaluation Associates where she was a senior consultant and now is a senior investment consultant in the New York office. Rowland is a senior analyst, based in Stamford, having previously also been at Evaluation Associates.
