BlackRockFons Lute has joined as managing director of the fiduciary mandates investment team. In his new position, he will be responsible for fiduciary clients in the Netherlands, working from both London and Amsterdam. Since 2010, Lute had been tasked with business development at Cyrte Investments, a European investment boutique. Before then, he was managing director alternatives strategies at PGGM – the €125bn asset manager for the healthcare scheme PFZW – as well as CIO at Blue Sky Group, the pensions provider for the three large KLM pension funds. Lute has also been a board member at Eumedion, the lobbying organisation on governance and sustainability for institutional investors.

Finnish Seamen's Pension Fund – After a 33-year career at Merimieseläkekassa, the Seamen's Pension Fund, Helena Jaatinen is retiring as head of the fund in November. She began her career as a lawyer at the fund and has been the managing director since 1986. Kari Välimäki has replaced Jaatinen, joining from the country's ministry of social affairs and health. Välimäki was the chairman of the board of the fund since 2010, a position he has left since assuming his new role on 1 October.

State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) – Mark McNulty has been promoted to managing director and head of UK institutional clients from his former role as head of institutional and intermediary clients in Ireland. Before joining SSgA Ireland, he worked as a fixed income dealer in AIB Capital Markets. Catherine McLaughlin has been appointed senior relationship manager on the UK LDI team. She joins from AonHewitt, and before then worked at Irish Life and SEI.

Aon Hewitt NetherlandsReinoud van den Broek, chief executive, and Jan Willem Siekman, executive director for retirement and financial management at Aon Hewitt, will leave the company, after four and three years, respectively. They will transfer their tasks and contacts to the new management team, consisting of Pascal Hogenboom, Frank Driessen and Judith van de Ree.

IMQubator – The Netherlands-based hedge fund incubation platform has appointed Linus Nilsson as head of risk management. Nilsson was previously at Man Investments, where he served as a senior analyst. Before then, he was a risk manager for the external fixed income group for Norway's central bank.

Pension Insurance Corporation – The following people have been appointed to PIC's board: Bill Winters, founder of Renshaw Bay and former co-chief executive at JP Morgan Investment Bank; Harriet Maunsell, formerly a senior partner at Lovells, now Hogan Lovells, and chairman of the Occupational Pensions Regulatory Authority; Chris McKechnie, managing director for principal investments at Swiss Re; and Eloy Michotte, director at Reinet Fund Manager.

Neuberger BermanKhalid Murgian has been appointed managing director and head of the MENA region. He was previously head of MENA and new markets at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Before then, he was head of business development for the Middle East at Threadneedle Asset Management.

Research Affiliates Global Advisors (Europe)Helge Kostka has joined as vice-president, responsible for business development and partner and client support in the UK. Prior to joining, he served as head of product management for equity and multi-asset solutions at Aviva Investors. Before then, he served in a number of roles for Deutsche Bank's asset management entities.

BlueBay Asset ManagementErich Gerth has been appointed global head of business development, with effect from 1 December. He joins from Aviva Investors, where he was chief executive of APAC and global business development. Before then, he served as chief executive at Janus Capital International.

Sciens Alternative InvestmentsFarhang Mehregani has been appointed CIO. SAI comprises Sciens' funds of hedge funds business, managed account services, investment services and advisory solutions. Prior to joining Sciens Capital, Mehregani ran the Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa equities business at Citi from 2008 until 2011.

PartnershipDavid Richardson has been appointed CFO, where he will be responsible for finance, actuarial and investment management. He joins from Phoenix Group, where he was group chief actuary. Before then, he held a number of senior roles at Swiss Re. Incumbent CFO Mark Dearsley will become managing director of the new international division, while Kathryn Purves, commercial director, has been appointed chief risk officer.
