The Register of International Securities Financing Counterparts is a central database, held and managed by Securities Finance International, containing profiles of many of the world’s major securities lending custodians, agents, intermediaries and proprietary borrowers.

Selecting the right counterparts is a critical part of the securities lending process. Use of the register brings discipline and clarity to a hitherto haphazard and opaque process.

The register holds profiles that contain information gathered in response to over 200 questions relating to securities lending counterpart selection. Lenders may interrogate the register free of charge to identify the counterparts best suited to borrow or distribute their supply.

Interrogation simply involves listing the requirements that are important to you lenders. These ‘selection criteria’ might range from credit quality threshold to preferred collateral types or the preference languages. SFI accesses the database and provides details of which counterparts meet the selection criteria.
