UK – Ron Amy has stepped down as chief executive of Aon Consulting’s UK operations, though he will stay on as chairman.

In his place comes current managing director Robert Middleton. Amy would “assume greater responsibilities in providing global leadership”, Aon said. Middleton has been with Aon for 10 years, and in his current role since 2003.

Aon said he’d “led the UK consulting business through a period of significant change, resulting in increased profitability and sales”.

Baljit Dail was named global chief administrative officer, a new role. Amy and Dail will continue to report to Andrew Appel, CEO of Aon Consulting.

“Achieving Aon Consulting’s goals relies on our ability to deliver on a number of key priorities worldwide,” said Appel in a statement.

“Robert, Ron and Bal are charged with developing strategies to enhance client service, attract and retain unmatched talent, pursue operational excellence, and build innovation and thought leadership on a global basis.”

Amy would “build a team designed to provide global benefit services to multinational organisations”. He’ll still be chairman and CEO of Aon Asset Management Ltd. and a member of the Aon UK board.

Dail is currently executive vice president of global strategy. He joined from McKinsey & Co. in 2005.
