BUPA appoints Mercer after tender selection process
UK- Global health and care firm BUPA has appointed William M Mercer as pension and benefits consultant to its pension scheme and adviser to the group's overall pension strategy, after a three-month tender process involving 10 consultancy firms.

The tender was the result of BUPA's board of trustees decision to review their advisers on a regular basis in order to secure best practice within the group's pension strategy.

"Mercer was appointed after an extensive tender process," says Loraine Waller, director of HR and a trustee of the BUPA pension scheme in London, that has 10,000 members and assets of £300 (€478m). "We felt they demonstrated outstanding capabilities, including impressive interactive software and a good cultural fit with BUPA."

Commenting on the appointment , Neil Brougham, senior consultant at Mercer in London says: "We are delighted to be appointed by such a prestigious multinational company as BUPA." BUPA operates in 190 countries and employs 40,000 people worldwide.
