UK – The merger between the insurance practices of Deloitte & Touche and Bacon & Woodrow has been finalised with the formation of B&W Deloitte.

To mark its establishment, the new company has published a report examining the changing insurance industry at a time when there is increasing regulation and when multi-nationalism is leading to the creation of larger insurance companies.

The report, Insurance Market Insight 2001, discusses the growing number of compensation claims, technical changes and the fact that the number of insurance companies has fallen by 10% in the last two years.

“The launch of B&W Deloitte comes at a time when traditional insurance operating models are looking increasingly challenged and vulnerable. The winning insurance companies will be those that adapt services, prices and even customers accordingly,” says Allan Kaufman, new managing partner at B&W Deloitte.

Duncan Ferguson, a former senior partner at Bacon & Woodrow, is now a senior partner at B&W Deloitte, along with all the partners at the former insurance practice.
The company now has 15 partners, 200 staff and offices in London, Paris, Cologne, Amsterdam and Zurich.
