UK- Frank Russell has added a further two funds to its multi manager range. The new US and UK quantitative funds are designed to complement the existing US and UK equity funds offered to European clients.

Frank Russell has appointed BGI, JP Morgan, Jacobs Levy and Franklin to run the US fund and BGI, Fidelity and AXA are to run the UK equivalent.

Each individual manager offers a variety of investment approaches and Frank Russell is convinced the funds offer a range of quant strategies not typically found in most UK and US mandates.

Both funds use stock selection models to find and exploit pricing anomalies across their respective markets. Managers are diversified across styles and sectors and aim for excess returns with a low tracking error.

“What they have in common is that the stock selection and portfolio construction is governed by a computer-based model,” says Scott Donald, director of product development at Frank Russell.

“These funds have clear diversification benefits for investors in the US and UK markets and an increasingly large number of investors recognise the value of using a quantitative approach to supplement their existing US or UK fund,” he says.
