SWITZERLAND – Christoph Schenk, the former chief executive of ABB’s pension fund unit has joined Credit Suisse Asset Management as its new chief investment officer in Switzerland.

Schenk left ABB Vorsorge, the pension fund for Swiss employees of the engineering company ABB, at the beginning of this year, having been its chief executive since the unit’s inception in 1999, in search of “a new challenge outside the ABB organisation”.

His new role at Credit Suisse Asset Management Switzerland will commence on March 1.

Schenk replaces Guido Baeschli who became head of mixed portfolio of CSAM Europe, as part of the regional restructuring at the beginning of the year. Peter Dellsperger has been acting as chief investment officer in the interim although will now take on a position within investor relations.
