The IPE Awards 2020 are now open for entries. The IPE Conference & Awards has been rewarding excellence in Europe’s highly diverse and innovative pensions industry for 20 years and is the premier event of its kind with the largest annual gathering of pension funds in Europe.

This is a landmark year for the industry-leading event as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Launched in 2001 with just 14 categories featuring country and European leaders rewarded for their investment strategy and fund structure, the IPE Awards now comprises 44 country and regional, specialist themed and European-level categories judged by up to 100 judges – industry experts and leading former pension fund executives who are selected for their specialist expertise and knowledge.

The objective is to build a unique set of benchmarks whereby pension funds of all shapes and sizes can measure their performance and approach against their peers across Europe.

This year welcomes two new awards: Commitment to Diversity and Impact Investing.

The Commitment to Diversity gives pension funds the opportunity to show how they can use their influence to ensure their industry is inclusive and fair, while the Impact Investing award is a natural extension and complement to the existing sustainable investing themed awards ESG and Climate Related Risk Management.

Whereas the latter are focussed on the impact these areas have on a pension funds’ portfolio and financial management, Impact Investing gives them the opportunity to show how they use their authority by investing to support and underpin society, communities, the environment and economy.

ATP secured the coveted title of European Pension Fund of the Year in 2019. Its six wins overall highlighted its innovation and drive to remain at the forefront of the pensions industry globally. In the 20 years of the IPE Awards, ATP is the most successful pension fund having some 40 trophies.
