JP Morgan's Paterson joins NAPF

UK - JP Morgan Asset Management's David Paterson is to take over as head of corporate governance at the National Association of Pension Funds from Geoff Lindey.

Paterson will also become director of research at RREV, the association's joint venture with Institutional Shareholder Services.

"David will lead the NAPF's corporate governance policy development and high level engagement with companies," the NAPF said in a statement.

It said he's retiring his role as JP Morgan Asset Management's head of corporate governance.

"We are very pleased that someone with David's experience will be following in Geoff Lindey's footsteps," said NAPF chief executive Christine Farnish. "David's appointment will ensure we continue to discharge those responsibilities to a high standard."

Meanwhile, Merrill Lynch Investment Managers said it is rolling out a new defined contribution pension arrangement which focuses on a targeted investment return.

It's called target driven investing (TDI), a conscious reference to Liability Driven Investing (LDI). MLIM said it's an improvement on DC lifestyle default funds. It declined to name the clients for the service.

Elsewhere, Buck Consultants has named Alan Gibbons as head of its human capital consulting practice in the UK and Europe. He joins from Sibson, where he was London managing partner.
