NETHERLANDS - Peter Kraneveld, head of international affairs at €81bn Dutch pension scheme PGGM, will leave the fund at the end of this month he announced today.

Kraneveld, who was chief economist at the fund before taking up his current position, will leave PGGM to pursue his interest in pension system design and pension fund governance, he told IPE in an interview this morning.

He said that from February onwards he would appear as a guest speaker at various conferences.

He added that during this period he would explore how to best get a foot in the door regarding pension fund governance and pension system design.

However, Kraneveld said he was not attracted by the idea of setting up his own consultancy firm.

"I am mostly interested in becoming a trustee or an administrator at a pension fund," he said. He added he had not yet received any offers.

PGGM is looking for his replacement, Kraneveld said.

He previously worked on export credits and credit guarantees issues for the OECD and for the Dutch economic affairs ministry as an Asia expert.
