ABN Amro Mellon poaches DB's Korsanke

EUROPE - ABN Amro Mellon Global Securities Services has poached Robert Korsanke from Deutsche Bank as the new senior sales manager for its Frankfurt office.

In his new role, Korsanke will seek to increase ABN Amro Mellon GSS’ institutional client base in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and further develop the existing client portfolio for additional global custody and securities services.

Korsanke, was previously at Deutsche Bank’s Trust & Securities division where he had similar responsibilities. He has ten years of experience in offering custody and securities services in the German-speaking countries.

Other appointments this week include HSBC Asset Management’s head of the European desk Jeff Currington to the role of head of European equities for Credit Suisse Asset Management (CSAM). Currington replaces Norbert Beiner, who left in April. He will start in July

He is to lead an 11-strong- team managing all continental, pan-European and continental European country funds.

Morley Fund Management’s Shona Whitesmith, has joined BNP Paribas Asset Management, as the new head of institutional business development in the UK and Ireland. She will be based in London and reports directly to Denis Coulon, head of the London office.

Whitesmith replaces Tony Maddock, who left the firm at the end of last year. In her new role Whitesmith, is responsible for renewing and broadening BNPPAM’s marketing efforts with potential key institutional clients and consultants.

Standard Life Investments has appointed Mark Connolly, previously Deutsche Asset Management’s head of European & Middle East institutional business, as executive director for distribution and client service.

Joining the company on May 9, Connolly will have responsibility for co-ordinating SLI’s ’ sales, marketing and business development activity, including both retail and institutional.
