Donald MacLeod, chief actuary of RL360, has teamed up with talent solutions specialist Ignata to launch an online actuarial comedy club to raise money for the Mental Health Foundation.

The event aims to promote Mental Health Awareness Week.

Ignata, which claims Laugh, Actuary to be the first ever online actuarial comedy club, said is organising an online event for professionals working with the insurance, pensions and investments markets.

Macleod, who is a world record holder for telling the most jokes in an hour, will host the event tomorrow at 4pm.

Stuart Mitchell – from Mock The Week, The Now Show, The News Quiz – and Micky P Kerr – a Britain’s Got Talent finalist – will also take part.

Ignata said that “it’s been a challenging time for many people and many businesses”, but MacLeod is on a mission to “raise spirits for charity”.

“With prevention at the heart of what they do, the Mental Health Foundation aims to find and address the sources of mental health problems so that people and communities can thrive,” it added.

The event is free to attend but actuaries can make a donation to Mental Health Foundation via JustGiving and sign up for the actual event through eventbrite.
