US – FTSE Americas, a division of London-based global index provider, FTSE Group, has appointed Carmen Campollo as vice president of pension and consultant relations to its New York office.

Campollo’s mandate is to head a team whose main objective is to get North American public and corporate pension plans to benchmark their portfolios against FTSE indices.

Campollo joins FTSE from rival index provider Standard & Poor’s where she worked for four years, most recently as senior director of business development.

Prior to joining S&P, she was an emerging markets analyst at the International Finance Corporation for seven years and spent four years at the World Bank in Washington.

A spokesman for the company says the appointment is a one-off but is in line with FTSE’s strategy to expand its pensions business in North America.
