UK/KENYA - IPE’s Tony Hay is raising sponsorship funds for sustainable development projects in Kenya by cycling 250 miles from the slopes of Mount Kenya, across the Equator, to the shores of Lake Victoria 23-30 October.

To date Tony has raised more than £4,300 – including a £1,250 donation from IPE – and his aim is to raise more than £10,000. If you would like to sponsor him you can do so by visiting his personal fundraising page at www.JustGiving.com/TonyHay or email tony.hay@ipe.com for a sponsorship form.

Tony will be one of 40 cyclists raising money for development projects in the Turkana region of Northern Kenya which are funded by the New Ways charity. A large majority of those taking part are members of the investment community both in the UK and the USA.

After deductions for costs the group has already raised almost £80,000. Every £50 raised keeps a child at nursery school for a year, and New Ways' long-term aim is to continue to fund 20 nursery schools with a budget of £66,000 per annum. They are also trying to develop the local infrastructure by building dams to provide a sustainable source of water.
