GREECE - Mercer Human Resource Consulting says it has entered into a partnership agreement with leading Greek consulting firm Planet SA, which ended a relationship with Ernst & Young earlier this year.

“With over 140 consultants and support staff, Planet SA will represent Mercer in Greece, advising clients on business strategy, technology and operations,” Mercer, part of Marsh McLennan Cos., said. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Core services will include human capital consulting, actuarial advice and the provision of global information reports.

The two firms have already started work to launch Mercer's Total Remuneration Survey in the Greek market.

“Planet is a natural business partner because of its reputation for high-quality service delivery and experience in a broad range of consulting areas,” said Cameron Hannah, the head of Mercer’s operations in eastern Europe.

“Mercer’s position as a global market leader of HR services makes it the ideal affiliate for us and together we will be able to deliver a seamless service to meet our clients’ various needs,” said Planet’s chairman and managing director Christos Giannakopoulos.

Planet was set up in 1987. In 2000, it bought Ernst & Young’s management consulting practice for Southeast Europe. It ended its agreement with E&Y in February this year.

Planet had a turnover of around 17 million euros in 2003.
