UK – Mercer Human Resource Consulting has appointed former Jardine Lloyd Thompson senior actuary, Matthew Parker, as senior consultant.

This is the first of two appointments announced this month by the global consulting firm.

Parker, 43, has started at the Marsh & McLennan subsidiary with immediate effect.

“He will be responsible for providing actuarial advice to pension scheme trustees and employers,” said Mercer spokesperson Lydia Donnelly.

Parker has 18 years of experience in the pensions industry. He was a senior actuary and pensions technical manager at Unisys Insurance Services for two years before moving to JLT for three months, where he managed a client transition.

Richard Hawke, 41, a former managing consultant at Heywood Ltd. for 18 years – has also started at Mercer with immediate effect as a principal in the firm’s pensions administration business.

Hawke, who has 20 years of pension administration experience, will be responsible for managing client relationships, including developing tools and services to meet client needs.

“Richard and Matthew have not replaced anyone at Mercer. These are both new positions,” said Donnelly.
