UK – Consultant William M.Mercer is launching a series of ‘hot topics’ courses, including implications of the Myners review, the abolition of MFR, and changes to the pensions and divorce laws, as part of its 2001 programme of pensions knowledge seminars for pension scheme trustees.

“ Amongst trustees, demand has grown significantly for something more than the usual training, so we have devised a modular course that will bring them up to date and enable them to discuss the current issues, “ comments Adrian Lamb, European partner at Mercer.

Currently, the following courses are planned: 3 April – London, 5 June – Birmingham, 4 September – Leeds, 6 November – London.

Mercer has also reviewed its basic and advanced pensions knowledge courses to now focus primarily on the practical aspects of trustee meetings, including the problems and issue that arise and the questions that trustees should be asking.
