GLOBAL - DNB, T Rowe Price, LCP, Kommalpha, BSV, Standard Life Investments, Aquila Capital

DNB - The Dutch government has appointed Alexander Rinnooy Kan as chairman of the supervisory board of pensions supervisor De Nederlandsche Bank. As of 1 July, Rinnooy kan will succeed Fokko van Duyne, who is to step down after completing his maximum 12-year term on the board. Rinnooy kan has been crown member and chairman of the Social and Economic Council (SER) since 2006 and is also part-time professor of policy analysis in the public and private sector at Amsterdam University. Earlier, he served as chairman of employers' organisation VNO-NCW and was a member of the executive board of banc-assurer ING.

T Rowe Price - Todd Ruppert, head of T Rowe Price's Global Investment Services (GIS), has announced his retirement at the end of June. Keith Lewis and Flemming Madsen will take over his duties at GIS - which services T Rowe Price's institutional clients and consultants worldwide - on an interim basis. Upon retirement, Ruppert plans to focus more fully on his philanthropic activities.

LCP - Emma Watkins has been appointed principal at the consultancy's buyout practice. She joins from MetLife, where she was director of business development, overseeing the development of the buy-in/buyout offering. She is also a member of the Board of Pensions Network and an associate of the Pensions Management Institute.

Kommalpha - Dagmar Graw has joined the consultancy as partner responsible for project acquisition and management, with more than 25 years of experience in the banking sector. She previously worked at Dresdner Bank and Six Telekurs.

BSV - Switzerland's ministry for social insurance has appointed Jürg Brechbühl as its new director, replacing Yves Rossier, who has moved to the country's foreign affairs department. Brechbühl has spent 20 years at the BSV, becoming deputy director in 2001 and holding a number of other positions in his time, including head of retirement provision, responsible for the supervision of the AHV.

Standard Life Investments - The asset manager is to create an emerging markets bond team that will be led by Richard House, together with Mark Baker and Nicolas Jaquier, who will join as investment directors. House joins from Threadneedle, where he was head of emerging market debt. Jaquier also joins from Threadneedle, where he was an emerging market quant specialist.

Aquila Capital - The Hamburg-based alternative investment company has hired seven "farmers who speak finance" for its agriculture investment management team. The new appointments include Andrew Watters, Grant Rowan, Jesper Brunhoj, David Cornish, Fernando Rovira Cuervo, Paulo Murray and Eric Bosveld. Detlef Schoen will continue to lead the team.
