Financial information provider Standard & Poor’s has introduced an online global resource, Funds-sp.com, for financial planners, investment advisers, fund sponsors and individual investors.
The web site offers access to information on some 40,000 mutual funds, including performance data and fact sheets on each of the funds. Comparative reporting, searching and charting capabilities can be accessed through the databases on the web site.

“ Funds-sp.com is a robust site that gives investors access to data and information that allows them to make more informed investment decisions,” says Sandford Bragg, executive managing director of fund services at Standard & Poor’s in New York.

The fund fact sheets contain performance history, investment objectives, fees and expenses, with market and peer comparisons, including charts that compare funds with their peers over several time periods. The funds are also rated by the company’s analysts.
French and German versions of the site are available as well, and a Spanish site is currently under construction, says the company.

The site is based on an existing product by Micropal, a mutual fund database acquired by Standard & Poor’s in 1997, but some upgrades have been added.
