UK- Wilton Asset Management has announced the closure of its $240m private equity pension funds in which pension funds for the Nottinghamshire County council and the Lattice group have taken undisclosed stakes.

Wilton AM is a joint venture between State Street Global Advisors and DuPont Capital Management, manager of the $24bn pension fund of chemicals company DuPont.

The fund invests in US and international closed end private equity partnerships that focus on leveraged buyouts, venture capital and growth financings.

DuPont pension scheme already has $3bn invested in private equity and has made a commitment to the Wilton fund.

Referring to the Wilton deal Kanesh Lakhani, managing director at SSgA says: “This is an unusual if not unique venture between an asset management company and the in-house fund management team of a pension fund.”
