UK – The Department for Work and Pensions is seeking a head of long-term economic analysis programme for pensions.

“This is your chance to play an influential role in the strategic development of the future of UK pensions policy,” says a DWP newspaper advertisement for the post.

“Working closely with the chief economist for pensions, you'll inform policy making by designing a groundbreaking programme of long-term economic research into pensions provision, retirement issues and pensioners' welfare.”

“You'll manage the delivery of that programme through a team of specialist analysts and external consultants,” it adds.

The London-based role, which carries a salary of around 65,000 pounds, calls for a strong academic record, research management and creativity.

“The intellectual challenge on offer is enormous; so too is the potential to make a real contribution to what is arguably the biggest long-term issue in UK public policy.”
