UK – The £370m (€525.9m) London Borough of Enfield Pension Fund is looking for an independent investment consultant.

The advisor’s role includes helping the five-strong Pension Fund Investment Panel, which meets quarterly to oversee the management of the pension fund’s investments.

In an announcement, the council said the ideal candidate would have knowledge of the fund management industry and could attend at least four half-day meetings per year.

“Knowledge and commitment to the Local Government Pension Scheme is desirable,” it added.

The identity of the incumbent consultant is not known, as Paul Reddaway, assistant head of finance, declined to comment.

The deadline for applications is January 24.

In the 2003/2004 report the council said the pension fund ranked 12 among local authority pension funds, based on performance over a 10-year-period.

Actuary Hymans Robertson had started work on the triennial valuation of the pension Fund as at 31 March 2004 and the report would be completed “during the winter.”

As of March 31 the fund’s portfolio comprised 42% in UK equities, 28% in overseas equities, 10.5% in property, 14.5% in fixed interest bonds, five percent in index-linked bonds.
