GLOBAL - People roundup: UBS, Hewitt Associates, LGIM, Fidelity International, Henderson, Callan Associates

UBS - Ulrich Körner has been appointed group chief operating officer (COO) and chief executive officer (CEO) of its corporate centre with immediate effect. Körner joined Credit Suisse in 1998 and was most recently CEO for the Switzerland region.

Hewitt Associates - Gavin Tillman has rejoined Hewitt's investment consulting team in the UK after spending two years in a liability-driven investment fund management role at HSBC Global Asset Management. Tillman first joined Hewitt's investment consulting team in 2001 after training and working as an actuary.

Legal & General Investment Management - Kevin Carter has been appointed as a new non-executive director. Carter joins from JP Morgan Chase, where he was managing director of Global Pensions Advisory for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Fidelity International - Michael Gordon has stepped down from his position as head of investment strategy and is leaving the firm to take some time out of the investment industry. Fidelity has no immediate plans to appoint a replacement.

Henderson Global Investors
- James Gledhill has joined the firm's fixed income business and will work alongside bond manager John Pattullo. Gledhill joins from New Star Asset Management, where he was head of fixed income.

Callan Associates - Edwin Callan, founder of San Francisco based-consultants Callan Associates, died last Saturday at the age of 88. Callan and a group of colleagues from Mitchum, Jones and Templeton set up Callan Associates in 1973. Callan sold his stake in the company in 1990.

RREEF - Robert Cervinka has joined RREEF Management GmbH's management board as head of asset management and transactions for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, based in the firm's Eschborn office. He was previously managing director for the Cerberus Deutschland Beteiligungsberatung GmbH and was co-head of the European Real Estate Group with specific focus on real estate asset-backed investments.
