Newton appoints new head of European equities

UK – Newton, the London-based asset management subsidiary of Mellon Financial Corporation, has appointed Rajesh Shant as investment leader to its European equities team.

Shant joins from Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he was director of European equities, with responsibility for a team managing over US$3.5bn (€3.9bn).

Says Jeff Munroe, chief investment officer at Newton: “He Shant has valuable experience in managing European equities at senior level and has proven investment performance.”

Newton has assets of more than £22bn in assets under management and provides a range of investment products and services to individuals, pension funds, charities and corporations.
