Interesting points, but your argument is weakened by taking a somewhat one-sided view of things:

What you call the Sunshine Effect of Robert Mueller's investigation is tainted significantly by its foundation in a number of untruths. For example, the so-called Fusion GPS Dossier, which contained a number of fabrications was subsequently used to obtain FISA warrants and lauch this investigation, and to date has only found a number of unrelated offences that appear to be unrelated to the campaign.

When an ESG professional asks you to not get political, it is their ESG way of stifling necessary debate. ESG is entirely political and the industry supporting it knows that it whithers when exposed to sunlight.

A war with Russia will indeed most likely be caused by NATO ... the joke here is "Hey Russia, why do you keep moving your borders closer to our bases?" To recapitulate the history, most of the wars with Russia started with invasions by European powers. It seems to be an offence in the Western Media for the Russians to have military exercises on their borders, but not for NATO to flex its muscles on the borders of Russia, and yet one of those scenarios is more consonant with history than the other.

"Only in the US would you need a law to say fiduciaries should put their clients’ interests first." Pure sophistry. There are laws like that in a number of jurisdictions, if not in statute, then at least in common law.

"C-suite and board directors can have a big influence on a wide range of peers and stakeholders." These are the very people most in need of constraint.

I'm less worried about the possible impact of the Trump administration, and far more worried about the organised cabal that has been seeking desperately since the day after the US election to find a way ... any thin straw ... to overturn the result of the election and remove Trump, because in the process of doing so they are stripping away the last layers of the Constitutional veneer that held together the last semblance of the rule of law in the US.

When the US goes, they are taking the world down with them. Be careful what you wish for.
