There is already a fund solution for this called the European Long Term Investment funds, or ELTIF. Alternatively, we could go back to closed end funds which are traded on the stock exchange. The Dutch had this very long and worked very well but the UCITS developed killed this business. I am surprised nobody is worries about index funds/ETFs because the issue is applicable as well for many indices with small cap stocks, etc.
As the ECB has bought most of the European bond market, should it not be discussed that in case of stress they step in by providing more liquidity in these markets, which they largely made dry up?
