SWEDEN - There's to be a debate in Stockholm about the possible impact of the forthcoming euro referendum will have on Swedish pension funds.

The event will be hosted by Singer & Friedlander Investment Management and Bank Corluy on September 4.

The keynote speaker will be Koen de Ryck of Pragma Consulting, who was co-founder of the Belgian Association of Pension Funds and a permanent representative of the European Federation for Retirement Provision.

De Ryck will discuss his research into the impact of the new currency on pension funds in the euro-zone. There will also be contributions from Singer & Friedlander and Bank Corluy fixed income specialists. The session will be followed by a reception. Email nokeeffe@sfim.co.uk for more details.

Sweden goes to the polls on September 14 to decide whether to adopt the single currency. Recent surveys show that about half of the voters intend to vote no and only one-third yes to the move.
