SWITZERLAND - F&C Asset Management has named Christian Zeitler as country head for Switzerland and Austria.

He'll head up its new representative office in Geneva, which will open later this year. The move means F&C will be present in eight countries, seven of which are in Europe.

Zeitler, 39, will join F&C in October from Morgan Stanley Investment Management where he has worked since 2004 as vice president for German, Austrian and Swiss Institutional clients.

He'll report to institutional head Patrick Johns, a statement said. Zeitler previously worked for Insight / Rothschild Asset Management and Commerzbank Investment Management.

"We invest globally but in terms of our sales, marketing and business development activities, our strategy remains focused on Europe. This extension of our activities into Switzerland and Austria further underlines our commitment to this strategy," said Johns.
