Higham buys consulting firm Dunnett Shaw

UK – Dunnett Shaw, a consulting firm which helped BP move its pensions administration in-house, has been bought by Higham Group for an undisclosed sum.

Higham, which converted from a partnership to public limited company in January, said the acquisition follows a “sustained period of organic growth” that has seen it grow to 400 people.

“This acquisition marks the start of our most exciting chapter yet,” said chief executive Alan Higham.

Jocelyn Blackwell, currently managing director of Dunnett Shaw, joins Higham’s board as managing director of consulting services.

Dunnett Shaw provides administration consultancy services to BP, Merrill Lynch and Unilever. It will be at the core of Higham’s new consulting services business.

Blackwell said: “There is a tremendous amount of similarity between our organisations in terms of how we do business, establishing long term partnerships with our clients and developing tailored solutions to each client’s specific needs.

“This made this the right partnership for us to enter into, and our collective proposition at Higham Group is of a different quality to anything currently available on the market.”

Dunnett Shaw was set up in 1987.
