UK – Georg Inderst has left Law Debenture as the trustee and investment trust company shifts its focus away from Europe.

“The European market development was not as fast as we had hoped on the trustee side,” said Eddie Stone, director of pensions. Europe was now “not our immediate priority”.

Inderst declined to comment on the reasons for his departure. He said he was now in the process of setting up his own independent economic, investment and pensions consultancy business. It would be based in London and operate on a pan-European basis.

In July Law Debenture said it saw opportunities arising from the problems in the corporate pensions market – and that pre-tax profit at its trustee services operation rose by 8.2% to 1.63 million pounds (2.3 million euros) in the first half.
