UK- Paul Kelly has quit Mercer Human Resource Consulting where he was European partner and senior consultant to join telecoms group Vodafone as director of pensions.

Vodafone was unable to confirm a precise job description and Kelly was unavailable for comment. Mercers says it has yet to pick a successor although it is likely to be an internal promotion.

Kelly was heavily involved in the work of the Pan-European Pension Group (PEPGO), a group of multinationals including Swiss Life and construction company Kvaerner bringing a series of test cases aimed at abolishing tax discrimination across Europe.

European partner Mark Sullivan, who is already involved in the Pepgo project, will assume Kelly’s workload in this area.

Kelly has already left Mercers and is expected to take up his new role in a few weeks’ time.
