  • NPRF seeks investment director

IRELAND - The search has begun for a replacement for John Corrigan as investment director for the National Pension Reserve Fund (NPRF).

In an advertisement on its website, the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) - which oversees the €22.3bn NPRF - is recruiting for a role which includes advising the NPRF Commission on investment strategy, such as asset class investments and benchmarks.

The successful applicant will also have a place on the executive boards of the NTMA and be expected to "deliver policy advice to the NPRF Commission on the management of the NPRF and to manage the fund so as to achieve the optimal financial return within the risk parameters agreed by the Commission".

Specific requirements for the role include holding a CFA charter or any other relevant qualification, and have experience managing a large portfolio and developing key relationships at Board level.

The search for a new investment director follows the appointment of John Corrigan as chief executive of the NTMA at the end of last year. He was promoted to the role following the retirement of Dr Michael Somers who had led the organisation since 1990. (See earlier IPE article: NPRF's Corrigan named head of NTMA)

Further information and an application form for the role can be found on the NTMA website.
