NETHERLANDS -- Pieter de Lange, professor of pension law at Radboud University, Nijmegen, is to join Dutch consultancy Schols & de Lange in February.

The consultancy is headed by Emilie Schols, who was formerly on the board of insurance company Reaal, and Henriëtte de Lange, who was formerly the manager of pensions with PricewaterhouseCooper in the Netherlands. It focuses on legal, communication and governance advice,

De Lange, who is Henriëtte de Lange’s father, will be consultant on legal and tax issues concerning pensions. “In addition Pieter has considerable experience in arbitration and alternative dispute resolutions,” Schols told IPE. “He is one of the few Dutch pensions professors and he has established a considerable reputation. Many dispute resolutions require the opinions of highbrow pension lawyers and he is one.”

After a career in the life assurance and pensions industry retained his interest in pensions and was a founder of the Dutch Association for Pension Law, which he chaired for six years, and is a member of the board of the Dutch Association for Insurance Law, a member of the editorial board of Holland’s Magazine for Pension Questions and of the Insurance Archive.

In addition, he is one of the authors of the yearly Pensions Guide and editor of and contributor to Pension Law, Texts and Commentary.
