NETHERLANDS – Rotterdam based financial services group, Robeco, has launched its second socially responsible investment (SRI) fund, the Robeco MilieuTechnologie, which will invest in companies worldwide that are active in preserving and improving the environment, especially in the areas of sustainable energy, water management and waste recycling.

The new funds have an issue price of €25 and the subscription period will run from 01 February until 01 March. The MilieuTechnologie fund complements the existing Robeco Duurzaam/Aandelen fund, which was launched three years ago and has attracted assets in excess of €150m.

“We are once again applying the three Ps principle with the launch of the MilieuTechnologie fund – people, planet, profit. As people become increasingly aware of the profit potential SRI can offer, we anticipate growth in the number of funds applying the three Ps principle,” says Robeco’s spokesman.

Though Robeco considers itself a keen player in the SRI market, there are no other funds being developed at the moment. “There probably will be others but we are taking it one step at a time. But we are very confident that our SRI range will grow.”
