NETHERLANDS –Rotterdam-based investment manager Robeco and US multi-manager operator Frank Russell Company have signed a partnership deal to launch a multi-manager product into the Dutch retail market from autumn this year.

Robeco will also market via its Flexioen DC pensions offering to Dutch employers.

Robeco will develop the product range known as Robeco MultiManagers, which it claims will offer a range of 40 ‘best of breed’ international asset managers across a range of styles in equity and fixed income, many of which it says are not available to individual Dutch investors at present.

The Dutch manager will be responsible for product design, legal structuring and client servicing, while international manager selection, combination and monitoring will be looked after by Russell.

Robeco says the launch of the product partnership is anticipating a trend towards so-called ‘open architecture’ products brought about by greater client awareness of style diversification and specialist management in the individual pensions market.

Ronald Florisson at Robeco comments: “We don’t have exclusivity for the institutional market because Russell has its own clients in the Dutch market, but we will incorporate the Russell offering within our Flexioen product for the pension market.”
