BELGIUM - Towers Perrin London-based consultant Frédéric Compté has joined some of his former Aon colleagues at new consulting firm Esofac Belgium.

"After working for more than four years in the Global Consulting Group of Towers Perrin London, Frédéric Compté decided to join Anne Claes, Anne Thiry, Karen Vande Sype and Jerome Louis at Esofac Belgium," the new firm said.

He will join as a new partner. Before Towers Perrin, Compté spent three years in the employee benefits practice at Aon Consulting Belgium with Thiry, who was managing director.

"I don't think they'll be a direct replacement - the GCG consists of 80 consultants globally - not individual roles," said Towers spokesman Rob Dwyer.

Separately, Towers Perrin has released a survey finding there is a high-level of pent-up demand for defined benefit pensions risk solutions that is not being satisfied.

It said: “More than half of the survey's respondents who said their company had significant legacy pension issues would consider purchasing financial risk-management products or transferring the risk to a third party.

“But despite a growing number of financial institutions offering, or preparing to offer, pensions-risk products and services, there is much talk but, as yet, less action.”
