UK – Law firm CMS Cameron McKenna’s pension group has launched an online UK pensions ombudsman information service called po-info.
The pensions ombudsman, currently barrister Julian Farrand, makes over 600 decisions a year that affect the pensions industry, says Cameron McKenna.
“This unique service will enable the industry to keep up-to-speed with the pensions ombudsman’s approach. In addition to providing commentary on what’s happening right now, the service will also provide guidance on effective scheme governance and the merits of claims,” Mark Grant, a partner at CMS Cameron McKenna and head of its pensions ombudsman unit.
Membership of the internet service includes a monthly summary of ombudsman determinations with commentary and analysis, electronic mail alerts on new developments, and analysis of court appeals from determinations. A research facility covering previous determinations and case law is also available through the site, and an annual seminar reviewing key scheme governance issues.
CMS Cameron McKenna is a founding partner of CMS, a trans-national legal services organisation, with members in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
