EUROPE - RBC Global Services has named Simon Shapland as regional vice president for Europe and the Middle East.
It said: “As the head of the sales and relationship management group in London, Dubai and Luxembourg, Simon will be responsible for driving forward RBC's European strategy.”
The division is part of the Canada’s RBC Financial Group.
"With 20 years of experience, Simon's strong leadership style, his extensive sales and relationship management skills, along with his comprehensive understanding of the securities industry, make him perfectly suited for his new role,” said Tony Johnson, vice president and global head of sales and relationship management, at the unit.
It said that Shapland formerly worked at ABN Amro Mellon as regional sales and marketing manager. After that he joined BISYS Investment Services.
Earlier this month ABN Amro Mellon named Citigroup’s John Morris to head its trustee and depositary services business.
