The dispute between the UK government and trustees of the two former National Bus pension schemes BEST and NBPF over approximately £200m (e304m) in pension surpluses has been settled. The government will pay £300m and £55.7m to trustees of BEST and NBPF, after the high court ruled money paid to the government at the time of privatisations in 1986 and 1990 belongs to the funds’ beneficiaries.
