UK - Fixed-income asset manager Pimco has hired Schroders’ Anne Fairchild-Jones as head of marketing communications in its London office- a new position.

Fairchild-Jones who was head of UK consultant relationships at Schroders, Pimco said, is to start in Mid-December.

In her new capacity, she is to work ‘closely’ with the business development, consultant relations, client servicing and product development teams.

She will lead a team of two people and report to Joe McDevitt, managing director and head of Pimco’s London office.

McDevitt said: “Anne brings to Pimco a strong consultant-orientated focus, as well as a deep understanding of the UK pension fund industry.”

“She has the skills and expertise to help us connect more effectively with the marketplace, thereby demonstrating still further our commitment to working with UK pension funds” he continued.

Fairchild-Jones is the second senior Schroders employee recruited by Pimco, part of German insurer Allianz. She follows Paul Craven, who used to be head of UK institutional sales.

He has joined Pimco as senior vice president and head of institutional business development for the UK last September.

It was unclear whether Schroders had found a replacement for Fairchild-Jones, as spokesman Julian Samways was unavailable for comment.
