EUROPE – Dow Jones, STOXX and the SAM group is to launch a new range of sustainability indices for European portfolios next month.
The Dow Jones STOXX Sustainability Indexes will track the leading European companies in terms of economic, environmental and social criteria and will be unveiled on September 17.
Based on sustainability assessment by SAM Research, the indices will compliment Dow Jones’ existing sustainability indices, which were launched in 1999.
SAM Indexes managing director, Alexander Barkawi, comments: “Having launched the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes in 1999, we have vast experience in benchmarking sustainability investments. Today, over 30 well-known financial institutions use our existing indexes for various products such as mutual funds, certificates, equity baskets and segregated accounts.”
