UK – Roy Gillson, the former UK chief investment officer at AXA Investment Managers, has become chief executive of the 10.1 billion-pound (14.8 billion-euro) gas industry pension manager Aerion.

Gillson left AXA at the end of 2002. According to an Aerion official, he joined Aerion in mid-December.

Aerion Fund Management is the main investment manager to the Lattice Group Pension Scheme, and is owned by the trustees of the scheme. It manages 89% of the scheme’s assets.

The UK gas industry was privatised in 1986 as British Gas – which was in turn demerged into Centrica, BG and Lattice. Lattice runs the UK's gas transportation network. In 2002, it merged with electricity utility National Grid to form National Grid Transco.

According to its web site, London-based Aerion had 10.1 billion pounds under management as at March 31 2003.
