GERMANY/UK- Germany’s FERI Trust, the independent wealth manager and fund analysis company, is teaming up with European Fund Information Services (EFIS) to launch a new London-based division FERI Fund Market Information (FFMI).
The two parties have worked together, most recently on Sales Watch Online, an internet-based mutual fund sales data service. FFMI will develop Sales Watch and broaden the range of reports published on the pan European fund and distribution markets.
EFIS was launched two years ago by Diana Mackay, a former managing director of Lipper Analytical Europe, and by Rodney Williams, a former director of Fleming Asset Management’s European division. FERI Trust is a subsidiary of FERI finance, the private company associated with Germany’s Quandt family.
FFMI is a private joint venture between the Trust and Mackay and Williams who will both be joint managing directors of the new venture. Michael Stammler, managing director of FERI Trust, will be chairman.
Williams says the primary focus will remain on cross border mutual fund sales but that analysing foreign sales in across Europe is another area they will build on. New products will carry the FERI prefix.
Says Stammler: “the start of this new product range under the FERI name and the opening of a FERI Trust office in London is another step in our planned expansion of services outside our German home market.
“FERI already has offices in New York and Paris but the new London office will be the hub of our fund market information and fund market analysis activities.”
