UK - Information on 'Running your scheme' is the final module of the trustee toolkit assembled by The Pensions Regulator.

Trustees taking the interactive online training course can now obtain a certificate on completion of the 11 modules comprising, among other themes, asset allocation, pension law, day-to-day investment decisions, DB recovery plans and funding, how a defined contribution scheme works and the role of the trustee.

The Pensions Regulator has also stated it will extend the toolkit further over the coming months but no details of which topics might be covered has so far been given.

The Pensions Regulator set up a code of practice which can be viewed on its homepage as, under the 2004 Pensions Act, trustees are required to have knowledge of legal, funding and investment strategies regarding pension funds.

The trustee toolkit is available to trustees from both defined contribution and defined benefit schemes as well as other interested parties and can be accessed on www.trusteetoolkit.com.
