UK - Hermes Pension Management director John Biles is to join the board of Sutton and East Surrey Water Plc, the UK utility bought last year by Deutsche Bank's infrastructure investment business.

SESW said Biles would join the board at its next scheduled meeting on September as an independent non-executive director, replacing Julian Avery who resigned earlier this year after eight years. Biles would also chair the board's audit committee.

Biles is a non-executive director of Hermes, the asset manager owned by the BT Pension Scheme. He also sits on the boards at Viridian, Charter, Chapelthorpe and ArmorGroup International. He was previously finance director at international engineering group FKI.

SESW also said tat managing director Phil Holder is to leave to be replaced by finance director Nick Fisher. Holder is to become directly involved with the Deutsche infrastructure business.

Fisher would be succeeded as FD by current company secretary and financial controller Jenny Hornby.
