UK – Deutsche Bank has brought in Sir Robert Smith as chief executive officer (CEO) at the group’s venture arm Morgan Grenfell Private Equity (MGPE) to replace former CEO Graham Hutton, who is leaving the firm following a disagreement over plans to sell the business to its management.

Smith, who established MGPE in 1989, has held a number of senior roles within Deutsche Bank.

He will retain his role as vice chairman of Deutsche Asset Management.
